Winemaking 101 Class

Are you interested in learning more about wine and the winemaking
process? John Calvin, Casa Rondeña Winery owner and vintner, will conduct
this informative class on the history and chemistry of wine. Learn about
oxidation, sulfur dioxide, pH (acidity), dry vs. residual sugar and the
machinery used in the winemaking process.
The class will also include barrel tasting some of our currently aging
wines.
Light
hors d’oeuvres will be served with the wine tasting. Cost is $35 per
person, class is open to members and their guests ONLY. Space is

Flamenco Guitar & Dance Performance
Saturday, February 13th
7:00p – 9:00p
Casa Rondeña Winery is pleased to welcome back Adriana
Maresma Fois and Juan Antonio Gomez for another performance on Saturday,
February 13th! This event will be held from 7:00 – 9:00p, with
check-in beginning at 6:30p. The cost is $40 per person for members and
$45 for non-members, and includes a glass of Casa Rondeña wine and Spanish
Tapas along with the performance.
Some information about these talented
performers…
Adriana’s impassioned performances and
choreographies have conquered stages throughout North and South America, Asia,
and Europe including New York’s Metropolitan Opera House, Festival Flamenco
Internacional de Albuquerque, Vancouver Flamenco Festival, Zurich Theatrehaus,
Milan’s Teatro Litta. Adriana is a
native of Albuquerque with Cuban and Paraguayan background and currently
resides in Jerez, Spain.
Juan, originally from Cadiz, Spain, began to
play the guitar at nine years of age. He comes from a traditional Andalucian
family where flamenco has been part of growing up, with his father, Paco,
sisters, and uncles all “aficionados” of flamenco singing. His professional experiences have been
growing up in the famous Spanish penas (flamenco bar clubs) of Cadiz, like
“La Perla” and learning from masters like Juan Villar, Enrique “El
Mellizo” and Manolo Sanlucar.
Vicente Griego “El
Cartucho” from Dixon/Embudo, New Mexico has devoted his life to the study of
cante flamenco, the art of flamenco singing.
In 1992, Vicente began touring the US, Canada and Latin America with the
Jose Greco II Flamenco Dance Company, where he was mentored by Caño Roto
singer, Alfonso “Veneno” of Madrid, Spain.

Winemaking 201 Class
Wednesday, February 17th
5:30p – 8:30p
Our Wine 101 class was so successful we’ve decided to take it to the next
level! This course will consist of a
vertical tasting of bottled wines along with wine still in the barrel and
tank. You will compare the wines at
each stage of the aging process.
Participation in the 101 class is not required, but recommended.

Winemaking 301
Wednesday, February 24th
5:30p – 8:30p
This course will be the most cerebral and mentally demanding of all the
classes. By using essential oils we
will discuss the olfactory relationships between them and a dozen different
wines. There will be a fair amount of
writing for this class. In order to get
the most out of this class, you must have taken Winemaking 201.
Light hors d’oeuvres
will be served with the wine tasting.

Winery Event Cancellation Policy: Reservation cancellations MUST
be received in writing (to info@casarondena.com) at least 3 days prior
to the event in order to receive a refund. Please understand that we have
planned for your attendance by purchasing food, rentals, etc., and most of the
time we’ve even turned others away because the event was full. Thank you
