Liv Orovich is a full-time ethno-folk musician, mult-instrumentalist, and music educator. Originally hailing from the northeast, Orovich studied at Boston Conservatory and Marymount Manhattan College before making Santa Fe her adopted hometown. Specializing in Eastern European music and Klezmer, she has held residencies as a violinist and educator at Temple Beth Shalom and Chabad Santa Fe, as well as several residencies at various restaurants and bars in northern New Mexico. Orovich is founder and director of integrative Klezmer band Los Klezmerados de Santa Fe, and through this band has performed for nearly every Jewish congregation in northern New Mexico. In addition to strings, she is an accomplished brass player, having played trombone and trumpet with Partizani Brass Band, trombone with The Sticky Live Funk, and trombone for Korvin Orkestar who notably opened for Devotchka as part of AMP’s Railyard Concert series in the summer of 2019. In addition, Orovich has for the last 15 years been dedicated to the art of street music and in 2020 she was voted in 1st place as “best busker” in the Santa Fe Reporter’s “Best of 2020”. When not performing, Orovich teaches private music lessons.
Musical swiss army knife Alan Gerard Kapulski has accumulated an astonishing cache of sonic skill in his four decades as a professional musician. After attending Northeastern Illinois University Music School, Kapulski was part of the touring a multi-disciplinary world music performance art organization Multo Naïve Music In Occidental (MNEMIO). MNEMIO held several residencies in Chicago, Toronto, and New York, including one at Merce Cunningham Studios in collaboration with choreographer Rachel Milder. Kapulski worked as a multi-instrumentalist in New Orleans for 17 years, securing a four year residence at the Milonga Tango Orchestra Sundays at La Pavilion Hotel in New Orleans, performing annually at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, and was the featured leader/Trés player in the celebrated Cuban “Trova Són” group “Són Del Pantano”. Upon relocation to Santa Fe, Kapulski was commissioned as the Program Director of Ethnosphere Music Lab, where he played principal tuba in the MayaMundi Orkestar and Guitarist in the MayaMundi Tango Group. Currently, he plays upright bass in the Santa Fe Klezmer group Los Klezmerados De Santa Fe,sousaphone for Korvin Balkan Orkestar and Partizani Street Circus Brass Band. Kapulski is also the founder and guitarist of Zero Hour Tango.
